as I was saying; I’m just sayin’

28 Apr

I did finish the story I was saying I would say I was done with by now.

Here’s a hot tip for the fairy tale inclined.  Enchanted Conversation would love to give you $25, one way or another.  Maybe you’ll really work for it, by writing a winning story or poem for their Beauty & the Beast contest.  Or maybe you’ll simply enter their drawing by commenting on any of the works in the current (also Beauty & the Beast) issue.  See Enchanted Conversation for complete rules.  Also: See my story Manley and the Missing Link there in the table of contents?  That sounds like a fun read.  I’m just sayin’.

WHINE

I’m still (slowly but daily) working on the same story. I still haven’t come up with a title for it.

SIDE DISH

Fittingly, my original announcement of the publication of Manley and the Missing Link was missing the link.

SOMETHING SWEET

This pleasant mass-mailed surprise was in my inbox yesterday morning:

971 MENU, after a one-year hiatus, is restarting, for the long haul.  We publish original fiction and nonfiction.  During our original stint of about three years, covering 2006-2009, 971 MENU gained a certain level of recognition from up-and-coming writers and online publishers.  We were known for publishing quality short writing, and we look to pick up where we left off, with the same editor and designer at the helm, now refreshed and one year wiser.  The only significant change is that we will no longer focus exclusively on sub-1000-word stories–we will consider work of any length.

So that’s cool. And with 971 MENU’s archives restored, my flash A Glimpse of Their Guns is up and available again.
